Jewish Calendar Box

Updated: Sep 20, 2022

"Chanukah is really early this year."

"No, it isn't! It's on the 25th of Kislev, same as always."

Yeah, that's not actually super helpful. Why do Jewish holidays move around so much? Understanding Judaism and the cycle of Jewish holidays starts with a foundation of understanding the calendar. In this box, we'll walk you through what is the Jewish calendar, why it's important, what are the Jewish holidays, and why you should be paying attention to the moon.

What's in the box?

  • A Guide Book to help you understand the Jewish year, with WAY more content than you knew you needed.

  • A full-color illustrated art Wall Calendar by guest artist Ofra Laya Isler! The calendar measures 11"x14" and you really want this on your wall. It looks so good!

  • A Papercraft Perpetual Calendar Kit: templates for four cubes, masking tape dots to secure it, and instructions on how to assemble it all.

  • Calendar Charm Bracelet Kit: a template to trace the symbols designed by Ofra Laya Isler, shrink plastic, jump rings, and your choice of bracelet blank.

  • Moon Phase Worksheets: a Moon Observation Log, and an activity sheet to learn about the phases of the moon using Oreos (Oreos included!).

A lot of times, people translate mitzvah to mean "a good deed", but it isn't. There are actually 613 mitzvot (the plural of mitzvah)...
